Flinders Discovery Centre, Hughenden ROARsome Dino Scavenger Hunt!

All week during Queensland Dinosaur Week, visitors to the Flinders Discovery Centre can take part in a roarsome Dino Scavenger Hunt! Pick up your list of clues at the front desk, then set off on a prehistoric adventure through the Centre as you search for fossil facts, hidden hints and dinosaur discoveries. Solve each clue as you explore the exhibits — from ancient inland seas to “Hughie” the Muttaburrasaurus skeleton — and once you’ve cracked them all, report back to collect your dino-mite prize. It’s hands-on, family-friendly fun that turns every visit into a fossil-finding expedition!

Flinders Discovery Centre – Step into Hughenden’s prehistoric past at the Flinders Discovery Centre, home to “Hughie” the Muttaburrasaurus skeleton. Discover how this region was once covered by an ancient inland sea, explore interactive exhibits that bring Queensland’s Cretaceous world to life, and uncover the stories of the remarkable marine reptiles and dinosaurs that once roamed here. With hands-on displays, family-friendly experiences and a welcoming outback atmosphere, the Flinders Discovery Centre is a must-visit stop on The GREAT Queensland Dinosaur Trail.

Located at 37 Gray Street, Hughenden, the Flinders Discovery Centre is an accredited Visitor Information Centre and the perfect starting point for exploring the Flinders Shire. And don’t forget to visit “Mutt” the Muttaburrasaurus replica in the Prehistoric Park on Grey Street.
