Kronosaurus Korner Richmond – Morning Tea with Dr Dean Lomax

FREE EVENT

Join internationally renowned palaeontologist Dr Dean Lomax for a special morning tea meet-and-greet and talk at Kronosaurus Korner during Queensland Dinosaur Week.

Making his first-ever visit to Australia, Dr Lomax is recognised globally for his research on ancient marine reptiles, particularly ichthyosaurs — the dolphin-shaped predators that ruled the oceans during the time of the dinosaurs. An award-winning researcher, author and science communicator, he has described new species, led international field expeditions and worked closely with museums around the world to bring prehistoric discoveries to life for public audiences.

At this relaxed and engaging session, Dr Lomax will share insights from his work uncovering marine reptiles across the globe and explore how Queensland’s remarkable fossils — including the mighty Kronosaurus — fit into the global prehistoric story. Guests will have the opportunity to hear firsthand about field discoveries, fossil preparation, and what it takes to reconstruct ancient ocean giants from fragments preserved in rock.

This is a rare opportunity to meet one of the world’s leading marine reptile experts right here in regional Queensland. Fossil lovers of all ages are welcome.
